We envision a forever home for Friends of the Children of the Klamath Basin - a space for active youth learning, discovery, and healing. We will transform a blighted property into a tranquil, beautiful retreat (clubhouse), where children who have experienced and faced numerous challenges, can relax, play, create, and learn.

Please help us build many more bright tomorrows!

When kids have a safe place where they feel belonging and the support to explore their skills, they do amazing things: conquer word problems, learn to cook, practice relationship skills ... even build a computer! Over the past 22 years, we have seen all these achievements and more in our beloved clubhouse on Altamont Drive. We also have seen so much growth that our program now exceeds our available space for ...

  • 8 Friends and 5 staff with the capacity to serve 61 youth
  • Support to program siblings & caregivers through 2Gen mentoring
  • A place to distribute and store a consistent stream of donations, such as coats, socks, food and school supplies
  • a place for our Boards to meet and to hold smaller fundraising events

In 2021, we located that new forever home. With seed money generously donated by the Mike & Bessie Short Trust, we purchased a blighted property on Old Ford Road that, after extensive renovation, will meet all our current and future needs as a permanent sanctuary for youth to connect with Friends, build resiliency, and feel at home.
