Staff: Jen Nelson

Jen grew up in North Carolina and relocated to the West Coast in early 2024. Her experience as a classroom teacher spans multiple grade levels (middle and high school) as well as multiple subject areas (Language Arts, Social Studies, and History). As a former teacher, Jen is passionate about literacy and storytelling. She believes that creating lasting connections with others is the foundation for success and community. Deeply committed to youth empowerment, Jen is dedicated to helping students—especially those who struggle in traditional classroom settings—find pathways to achieve their goals. Outside of her professional life, Jen is an avid reader and enjoys knitting and crafting as creative outlets. She also loves spending time with her fur-babies (two dogs and two cats), who keep her life full of joy and energy.
